Me and my sister:
"Sir, do you like good news . . ."
Householder:
"Hell, no!!!"
Door slams loudly.
Two stupefied young girls stand gawking at a stranger's doorway in rural North Carolina.
The end.

an article published by the bbc, sparks some controversy about dying or near death experiences.. the article goes on to state that individuals who were clinically dead were brought back to life.
individuals who past on to the "afterlife" claimed: "it was beautiful, one of the most wonderful.

I guess it depends on how dead they are; like, were they cremated or did they still have some semblance of a physical form?
Any one know of any cremated people returning to life?

Do children know about sin?
by lisavegas420 in" she said, "only in the song.
i said, "really, which song is that?
so what do you think the "sin thing" was that she did in the song?

The human sense of "right" and "wrong" evolved long before we got religion.
Cute kid. I hope she never believes in sin or sinners - just learns how to treat herself and others right. Lovely story!

Elders' wives and elders' kids - any different from the RnF?
by Inquisitor inelder's wives - the general impression of them in my congregation is that they are not to be messed with.
ews are all smiles in front of guests but brutally unaccomodating to more familiar brothers and sisters.
they put much effort in making "good" comments at the meetings, with the occasional veiled insult directed at certain individuals (i suppose this is the only outlet for a lady in jehovah's patriarchy).

I guess I can say from experience in both fields, they're just clueless humans, like the rest. Elders and their families are just rank and file, too; it just doesn't seem so to those who aren't elders (or their families). They're robots, following (and enforcing) orders, too, just like the rest. The power is an illusion because if nobody bought into any of it, the elders and their families would be "R&F" too, and that is what they are. Everyone in the bOrg is equal, because even if the elders and their families appear to have power, they really don't; the people with the power are the followers, who choose to do what they say; and the elders ultimately, are the biggest followers. Follow?

I found the Unitarian Universalists a useful antidote to Jehovahdoom when my child was young, but now, I choose not to support any organized religion. I prefer not to, perhaps for obvious reasons. Religion is a crutch and replacing one for another doesn't seem any healthier than just staying a JW. But then again, JWs are a bit different, in the most unhealthy, over-controlling ways, from the more "liberal" religions. Just my take . . . I would not dissuade you from seeking, but seeking true knowledge and science, rather than metaphysics is the path I would choose, if I could go back . . . then again, I might not have met some of the wonderful people who have been an important part of my life if my choices were different . . . who knows?
